As a continuation of the European OUYE project, DMZ has launched an artistic journey called “Once upon a time there was a rap course at the University”. The aim is to accompany a group of young people over 5 key periods. The participants met for the first part on 22 March, 5 and 19 April for a writing workshop. They had the opportunity to go on stage and take the microphone on 26 April at the Hôtel Pasteur during the Rap ta voix event co-organised with students from the University of Rennes 1. This event included a writing workshop, a R.A.P game allowing two teams to compete on their hip hop knowledge and an open mic. The third highlight consisted of stage work : how to position yourself on stage, how to hold your microphone, how to manage your breathing… We have now reached the 4th highlight: the hip-hop day organised at BAM. The programme includes a round table: a look at the practice of rap with the anthropologist Anna Cuomo, R.A.P Jeu and open mic. This journey will end on 29 June with an event to promote the work done.
Stay tuned !
