[UK TEAM]
The UK team have been running our workshop series since November 2021. We have been exploring areas of Manchester as part of our work on cultural spaces and feelings of belonging. When we are in a space, we discuss how it makes us feel, and whether we think that it is welcoming. One of the places we went to more recently was Castlefield- an area of Manchester in the city centre, with canals and old, industrial buildings.
After taking notes and discussing how we felt in the space, the young people commented on how quiet and calm Castlefield was in comparison to Manchester city centre, with space for the expression of arts and culture.
Whilst there, we also filmed ourselves walking around, and took a lot of photos. We created a short film using the video clips and photos, that we then added audio recordings to, of us discussing spaces in Manchester. This film has become one of our project outputs, and was presented during the consortium meeting in Helsinki!
